WASHINGTON (April 15, 2020) – For the first time, the Technology Policy Institute’s annual Aspen Forum— the think tank’s signature event featuring technology policy leaders from business, government and academia— will not be held in Aspen, Colorado, during mid-August.
Instead, the must-attend tech policy event that celebrated its 10th anniversary last year will take place October 16-18, in Charlottesville, Virginia, at the Boar’s Head Resort.
TPI President Scott Wallsten says he and event organizers weighed the potential for coronavirus-related travel complications and the reality that the Democratic National Convention was rescheduled to the Forum’s previously announced August timeslot before making the schedule changes.
“This year’s TPI Forum will be the place to discuss everything we’ve learned about COVID-19 and technology policy,” Wallsten said. “Attendees can expect the same, high level of agenda-setting speakers and debates as before.
“With the election looming, the discussions are likely to be particularly intense,” he said.
