2012 Forum Scheduled for August 19 – 21

February 17, 2012 – Online registration is now open for the Technology Policy Institute Aspen Forum, scheduled this year for August 19 – 21.
The TPI Aspen Forum brings together leaders from business, government, and academia to discuss key public policy issues affecting information and communications technology. This year’s theme is, “Washington, Silicon Valley and the 2012 Elections.”
A policy environment conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation has made the United States the global leader in the development of the Internet. Policymakers now face critically important issues that could alter this policy climate. Participants in the 2012 Aspen Forum will explore what the 2012 elections could mean for major technology issues, including broadband and spectrum policy, competition policy, privacy, cybersecurity, Internet governance and intellectual property.
Previous Forums have featured such notable speakers as Senator Mark Udall; tech entrepreneurs Reid Hoffman and Peter Thiel; Intel CEO Paul Otellini; Intuit CEO Brad Smith; Experian North America CEO Victor Nichols; AT&T Labs CEO Krish Prabhu; FTC Commissioner Tom Rosch; FCC Commissioners Mignon Clyburn and Robert McDowell; and economists Susan Athey, Tim Bresnahan, Dale Jorgenson and Hal Varian.
