Please join the Technology Policy Institute as Dr. Catherine Tucker presents her paper “Algorithmic Bias? An Empirical Study into Apparent Gender-Based Discrimination in the Display of STEM Career Ads.” Dr. Tucker is the Sloan Distinguished Professor of Management Science and Professor of Marketing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Margrét Bjarnadóttir will offer comments afterwards. Dr. Bjarnadóttir is a Professor of Management Science and Statistics Decision in the Operations and Information Technologies Department at UMD’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. She also co-founded PayAnalytics, which promotes pay equity using data driven algorithms.
