As society becomes increasingly digital, the costs of remaining disconnected also increases. While we are making progress in closing the digital divides that exist across regions and incomes, is that progress fast enough? Can we do more, and how do we reach the very last people, who are inherently the most difficult to connect? Researchers and industry experts will discuss the plight of the internet-less on the panel: “Terminally Unconnected: Will We Ever Get Everyone Online?” at the Technology Policy Institute’s Aspen Forum.
Participants in the panel, which will be moderated by Jonathan Make of Warren Communications News, are:
John Horrigan, Senior Researcher, Pew Research Center
Mark Jamison, Public Utility Research Center, University of Florida
Nicole Turner-Lee, Center for Technology Innovation, Brookings
Madura Wijewardena, Comcast Corporation
The Forum is scheduled for August 20-22 at the St. Regis Aspen Resort in Aspen, Colorado. The full agenda and registration information can be found on the Aspen Forum website. Flights and hotel rooms are filling up fast – register today!
