TPI Event Video: The Cost of Privacy in the Age of COVID-19

Watch the video from last week’s webinar, “The Cost of Privacy in the Age of COVID-19,” presented by one of the study’s authors, University of Chicago’s Chang-Tai Hsieh. Hsieh and his coauthors explore how public disclosure of the location of people who tested positive for COVID-19 affected the transmission of the virus and economic losses in Seoul, South Korea. Hsieh presents his results, and then discusses some of the critical questions about privacy, public disclosure, and public health with TPI President Scott Wallsten.
