TPI Aspen Forum Panel – The Internet of Things: Connecting It and Protecting It

From fitness trackers to connected cars, the “Internet of Things” is growing, as are questions about the government’s role. What infrastructure is required to connect all these devices, who will invest in it, and where will they put it? How do we balance the twin desires to connect more devices-from baby monitors to “smart” electrical grids-while also keeping them secure and safe from cyberattacks? Researchers, industry representatives and the co-founder of the Congressional Caucus on the Internet of Things will discuss these and related issues for the panel “The Internet of Things: Connecting It and Protecting It” at this year’s TPI Aspen Forum.

Participants in the panel are:

Rob Alderfer, CableLabs
Ashley Durmer, Ligado Networks
Gerry Faulhaber, University of Pennsylvania
The Honorable Darrell Issa, U.S. House of Representatives
David Young, Verizon

The Forum is scheduled for August 20-22 at the St. Regis Aspen Resort in Aspen, Colorado. The full agenda and registration information can be found on the Aspen Forum website. With the event being just under a month away, flights and hotel rooms are filling up fast. Register and make your travel arrangements today!
